Configuration for Kerio MailServer to support NotifySync

Summary

Details

Kerio MailServer version 6.6 supports synchronization of Email, Contacts, Calendars, and Tasks with NotifySync for Blackberry devices.

The data synchronization is facilitated via Microsoft Activesync protocol. This means that the Blackberry device communicates directly to Kerio MailServer without the assistance of a hosted server. Official support for this solution is available in version 6.7 of Kerio MailServer, however it is possible to enable such support in 6.6 by adjusting the mail server configuration file.

The configuration file is called 'mailserver.cfg' and is located in the following directory:

MacOS:

/usr/local/kerio/mailserver

Linux:

/opt/kerio/mailserver

Windows:

C:\Program Files\Kerio\MailServer

Using a text editor, search for the following line:

<variable name="AllowUnsupportedDevices">0</variable>

Change the value from 0 to 1, like this:

<variable name="AllowUnsupportedDevices">1</variable>

Before you save this change, you must stop the mail server.
