Setting up CalDAV account on iPhone

Summary

I need to setup CalDAV on my iPhone or I need access to public or shared calendars on the iPhone.

Details

Follow these steps to configure a CalDAV account on the iPhone:

  • Add a new account on the iPhone:

Settings > Mail > Contacts, Calendars > Other > CalDAV account

  • Add your Server name, Username and Password. This should produce a failure message. Select Continue.
  • Go to Advanced Settings. The Port and Account URL may need to be modified.
    • You need to know which ports your Kerio MailServer is using for HTTP(S). This can be checked within the Kerio Administration interface under Services.

Change the HTTP port to match your Kerio MailServer (80 is default)

Change the HTTPS port to match your Kerio MailServer (443 is default)

    • You will need to change the account URL, depending on the calendar you wish to view:

(For the following examples, the account on the iPhone is configured to use 'joe@domain.com' with a server address of 'mail.domain.com'. A calendar has been shared by 'tom@domain.com', and a resource is available called 'room101@domain.com'.)

      For your own calendar:

      HTTP(S)://mail.domain.com/principals

      For a shared calendar:

      HTTP(S)://mail.domain.com/principals/users/domain.com/tom

      For a resource calendar:

      HTTP(S)://mail.domain.com/principals/users/domain.com/room101

      For a Public calendar:

      HTTP(S)://mail.domain.com/principals/users/domain.com/.public

Please note that the creation of your account will have a default of your own account set up, including the default port number. You can modify the URL that it is attempting to use, without having to delete the whole URL.
